The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is an important part of the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) strategy for administering and enforcing civil rights laws in the nation’s public schools. Districts around the country are responsible for collecting and submitting information on access and barriers to educational opportunity from early childhood through grade 12. This session will focus on changes for the upcoming 2021-22 Collection, as well as ideas to help LEAs collect data throughout the school year, prepare that data for submission, and ensure data quality. The session will also briefly discuss possible ways that districts can use their CRDC data to support school and district continuous improvement planning.
