As a principal, I haven't had a year that I haven't had at least one new staff member. Our veterans know all the blood, sweat, and tears that have been poured into building and maintaining a collaborative school culture, but those that are new do not. Using your Guiding Coalition's expertise is a great way to give the benefit of shared knowledge to all. Leaning in on their guidance, there are a number of ways to actively engage all members of the school community and build shared knowledge among your staff. We'll talk about what knowledge needs to be established and clear and ways to not only inform but to empower members of your team as they understand the why of the PLC process.
