ADE Summit 2022

In this session, Thomasenia Adams, takes us on a journey of her lived experiences from her childhood to her arrival in the field of mathematics education. Weaving a story that connects her home and schooling, she sets a stage for exposing the audience to what's possible when stakeholders are not just watching students as they come in and out of the mathematics classroom, but when these stakeholders are seeing students' potential and empowering students to excel. She delivers a narrative that also encourages the audience to solicit, capture, and honor student voices. In this session, she will challenge participants to examine their perspectives and practices as they relate to advocating for students in mathematics.
